Hi Everyone, My name is Jose Salinas and I am proud to say this is my last semester at UHCL. I will be graduating in August with a MBA in Finance. I believe it will compliment greatly with my BS in Economics that I received from UH-Main Campus in 2008. I am currently working for a Private Equity Firm here in Houston and I love dealing with different kinds of projects everyday. It certainly keeps you on your toes on a daily basis. I also love the human interaction that we have on a daily basis with company execs. It is truly amazing to see how much it matters the perception that the other person has of you and whether the deal will get done or not. One of the main reason I truly find these type of classes beneficial.
I am a member of various committees around town such as the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Rodeo. I plan to continue to grow our fund, i just recently made partner so I am looking to continue to help this fund grow and be successful. In the long run I would like to lead some type of NPO, that would deal with our neighbors to the south.
I look forward to learning to blog. I have been behind the technology wave for some time, (I still use a blackberry) but I am excited to learn from others as well as getting input from alumni who have taken this course. This is a great way to have interaction and a living community on the internet.
