Maricela Barrera - Introduction

Hello everyone,

My name is Maricela Barrera.  I’m currently taking my last two classes this summer and will be receiving a BS in Accounting.   I plan to start working towards my CPA within a year from now and later on in the future work on my masters.

I worked with a small municipality for many years.  I move throughout the organization and worked in many different positions.  If you worked in this sector you would know that municipalities are under staffed and you learn to use many different hats.  This being my childhood community, I enjoyed working  and serving in this community.   All things come to an end and I started working part-time for an accounting firm where there is much to be learned.  Although, the majority of my background is in the municipality area.  I am ready and willing to learn the private sector.  

I have two teenage children.  So they keep me busy but are very understanding.  No the less are ready for me to graduate and spend more time with them. 

With this blog, I will learn how to use and do blogging since this will be my first time.  Second, I will be keep up to date with current events and learn to use social media which I’m not too familiar with.
