Innovation- Wireless Technology (Current Event)

Over the past few decades’ wireless technology has advanced drastically and the cell phone is probably known to be the most popular.  Cell phones have become very popular among society and a good portion of the population is known to own one.  When the cell phone was first introduced it was known to be very high priced and not many people were able to afford one.  Although this was the case many years ago cell phones have become more economically priced.

Before wireless technology was introduced it would take quite a few minutes for things such as transactions to process, when with today’s technology they are processed within seconds of when they’re performed. Wireless technology has impacted several different areas of which we probably overlook simply because of the convenience it has allowed us to have.  One of them being Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi is used in computers, cell phones and even tablets; this was very uncommon many years ago.  Other areas that have been impacted include education, news, medical industry, the financial market and there are many other areas that have taken advantage of the wireless technology which are advertising, law enforcement, military and the automotive industry.

Wireless technology has become a big part of our every day lives.  Whether its using your cell phone to make a quick phone call or using GPS to navigate your way to an address that you’re not familiar with, these luxuries were not available to anyone many years ago.

  1. One of the major challenges I faced in my IT career was how to connect our field construction offices to our corporate IT network. Through the advancement in wireless technology over the years and the use of wireless broadband cards our construction managers are able to connect to our corporate network using wireless broadband cards provided through AT&T and Verizon. This has allowed them to work and communicate as if they were in our main office but be onsite at the client's facility.

  2. There are still some places in Texas still have no signal for the phone connection. Will you have any way to increase the network in every single area? Network seems to be working strongly just in town or big cities while further areas that really need to communicate and exchange information.
