Hello, I am a Business Management
major and am taking the last three courses of my bachelor’s degree this summer.
I am a veteran of the U.S. Army. I
served as an Airborne Infantryman for a little over 6 years on active duty, and
completed two tours in Iraq. I am
currently seeking a job, but have found a few promising prospects.
I have never used a blog before. In
the past I have thought of the word blog as a derogatory word. Some of my
military friends have recently changed that view, and I find it interesting
that we will be using one in this course. I enjoy reading articles about crazy
things that happen in the business world, so this blog should help to expand
upon that. I look forward to reading what my peers decide to post.
Hoose82, I hope you enjoy the blog as well. When you find some of those business stories, you can one-line link them to the blog for others to see. For an example, see my post today about 'The Vegas Strip Steak Patent.' That's an interesting story from Freakonomics.
ReplyDeleteI followed the link to the Vegas Strip article. It led me to research more on Freakonomics. It really looks like something we would both enjoy. They made it into a documentary. Have you seen it?
ReplyDeleteI read Freakonomics last year, after my Money & Banking profesor recomended it. I later watched the documentary on Netflix. All of the cases presented are interesting. I think the one that hits closest to home is the one about standardized testing. I absolutely recomend reading it and watching it.
