Business Link of the Day - Are you ready for Windows 8?

There's a good overview of the imminent upgrade to the Windows Operating System published over at Slate.  I will confess, I have not seen the new OS first hand, but I am following it a bit.  The new OS is as radical of an overhaul of Windows as Windows was to DOS or Windows 95 was to Windows.  It may be an even larger discontinuity than that if this article is to be believed.

The new OS looks and works more like the interface for the Xbox 360 than it does the current Windows 7 interface.  It's optimized for a tablet touchscreen and will eventually integrate well with Microsoft's Kinect UI.  The OS will put a common face to Microsoft's PC, Tablet and (Nokia partnered) Smart Phone platforms.

So, are we a generation away from having the computer UI from Minority Reports?
